Meet Al and James
Before you entrust us with enhancing the quality of your relationship, you'll probably want
to know a little about the people behind SaveMyAss!
It's nice to meet you, we're Al Lieb and James Hong (you can probably guess who is who in the pic!).
James is best known as the co-founder of the popular website HOT or NOT?
(aka "Am I Hot or Not?"), one of the largest dating sites on the web. James has an MBA from Berkeley, where he
also got his EE/CS degree and was the top overall engineering graduate back in 1995. James previously worked
in Strategy Consulting and in the High Tech Industry. He had the idea for SaveMyAss while researching whether
he should focus his career on strat consulting, i-banking, or entrepreneurship.. and realizing that the people
he met from all three share a common problem that SaveMyAss solves. James loves what he does, but still
occasionally speaks at Berkeley and Stanford's Engineering and Business Schools to convince his parents and
friends that he is doing meaningful work.
Al is best known as the co-founder of the popular website Evite, which you've
surely heard of and have probably even used (admit it, you've used HOTorNOT too!). Evite was acquired by
Interactive Corporation, the company that owns Match.com, Citysearch, Ask Jeeves, Ticketmaster, and 20
million other companies you know. Since Evite, Al has consulted for a number of early-stage,
consumer-focused startups. Al graduated with a Computer Science degree from Stanford University, and in his spare time,
he tries to surf as much as possible.
But forget all that stuff. The main thing is that we're (self-proclaimed) cool and trustworthy guys who want
to make your life easier... First by helping you send flowers to your significant other, but down the road
we'll help you send other stuff, and to other types of friends and family too. Most of all, you can trust
our efforts in making your life better because we're a lot like you. We think we know what you would find
cool and helpful because we basically need it too!
